Dr. Jason Beard, D.V.M.

Dr. Jason Beard graduated from Texas A&M University (THE University of Texas) College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. After graduation he practiced on a variety of animals (dogs, cats, cattle, horses, pigs, ostriches, emus, rheas, llamas, ferrets, guinea pigs, hamsters and an occasional deer or bobcat) in a variety of places (Brenham, Buffalo and Marshall) before settling in Lindale. While enjoying all aspects of veterinary medicine, his areas of special interest include those challenging internal medicine cases and surgery - soft tissue and fracture repairs. "My personal goal is to give back to the animal world as much care and love as they have given me. This is a goal that is never attainable but will always keep me reaching upward to offer the best care possible."

Kathy Beard, R.V.T.

Kathy Beard R.V.T. graduated from Sul Ross University's Registered Veterinary Technician program in 1986. Since that time she has gained vast knowledge and experience in many areas of veterinary medicine - Private practice in Tyler, Brenham and Buffalo; Clinical Pathology at the Texas Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory in College Station; and Large Animal Surgery Dept. at Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine - as well as experience in the human medicine field by working as a phlebotomist/lab technician at Marshall Internal Medicine in Marshall, Texas. These varied positions have given her invaluable experience that she uses every day in patient care and the management of Hide-A-Way Small Animal Clinic.

The Beards were married in 1988 in Hide-A-Way Lake where Kathy grew up. They live outside Lindale with their two daughters, Kayla and Rebekah, and a menagerie of animals.

Hi I’m Julie. I graduated from Cedar Valley College’s Registered Veterinary Technician program in 2002. Before coming to HAWSAC in June 2003, I gained clinical experience in the Large Animal Intensive Care Unit at Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine, a small animal practice in Navasota, and a mixed practice in Mineola. In my spare time I enjoy deer hunting both bow and rifle, photography, and horseback riding. I live in Lindale with my husband and many animals.

We also have two very energetic dogs, a Miniature Schnauzer named Mindy and a Papillion named Dancer. In our spare time my husband and I like to water ski and try out new restaurants. We have a daughter, Amanda, who lives in Denton, Texas, with her husband Andrew, and 3 sons, Grant, Sam, and Ian. Our son Christopher graduated from The Ohio State University and now lives in Forney, Texas. He works as a Dallas Police Officer. I joined the Hide-A-Way Small Animal Clinic family in March 2006.

Jennifer, Vet Assistant

Hello my name is Jennifer and I have been with Hide-A-Way Small Animal Clinic since July 2008. When I started at the clinic my position was in the kennel as an animal caregiver. Since then, I have learned a lot about the clinic and thought becoming a Client Care Specialist would be a good position change for me. I have been married since 1996 and have three wonderful children – Kazlynn, Kyler, and Kaegan. I also have four dogs and one cat. In my spare time I enjoy softball, photography, and fishing with the kids. I am so excited to have the chance to meet each and every one of our clients. I look forward to many years here at HAWSAC.
